Written by The game puts you in the shoes of an amnesiac soldier as he tries to escape the caverns of a flying island while aiding lagomorphic creatures called mimigas. Along the way, he acquires a formidable arsenal and meets a colorful cast of enemies and allies. Energy capsules hidden throughout the island will improve his durability, while weapon energy dropped by enemies can be collected to increase the effectiveness of his armaments. If you are a fan of Metroid or Castlevania or side-scrolling shooter/platformers this game has your name written all over it.
NOTE: This game is best played with a game controller. After install find Cave Story in your start menu and there should be a setup program to setup your gamepad buttons and whether you want the game to run fullscreen or in a window.
