Unfortunately, when the cats at my grandparents house have kittens, or there are just too many, my grandmother and grandfather conspire to "get rid of them." These animals are like family to me, being that I'm the only one that shows them any kindness. When it's time to get rid of them, my grandfather (has in the past) takes a sack, puts the cats in, and smashes them with a hammer. Sometimes they escape, and the cat's faces look all fucked and they won't allow me to get near them anymore. Sooner or later they disappear, and I hope they got away, rather than killed. My grandfather is an ignorant old man (90 years old), and maybe that's how they did it back in the day, but after watching this video, imagine the terror these animals must feel. I don't know if he is still doing it or not, but kittens (and their mommies) just turn up missing when they have kittens, which is suspicious. Since they're good Christian people, they didn't deny that they killed the animals during the last "purge," but my grandfather says he hasn't done anything to them this time. So while this video is hard to watch, I don't know this man, he's not close to me...those animals were. Also, while this man's suffering was intense for 8 minutes, I've been suffering every day for over a year with (anything's bearable) an undiagnosed, mind-numbing stomach pain. That's just the latest episode of a life of suffering. At this point, it's hard to feel pity at all...at least for humans. That is what perpetual agony does to a person...maybe not old people, but to a young man like myself. I love my grandparents, but I can't wait to get out of this place. They don't realize that an animal's life is valuable too. I think, to them, it's not unlike stepping on a bug. Yet, they go to great lengths to hide it from me, so I'm sure they know it's not right. They pray every night, so it makes no difference to them, as long as Jesus forgives them. Good thing Jesus is so forgiving, because me? Not so much. They won't agree to watch a "sick" video like, this, but have no problem actually DOING it. For this, and considering that the rest of my "Christian" family either condones, or at least do not condemn this inhumane treatment of animals, I believe that Christians are all hypocrites, and I hate Christianity. I'd suffer for the rest of my life if it weren't for my own will to get myself out of this shit. That's what you have to learn to do, depend on yourself.
